I. Objectives
- To highlight progress made and remaining challenges regarding the implementation of PGA Programs:
- International Law and Human Rights
- Democracy, Gender and Inclusion
- International Peace and Security
- Human Rights and the Environment
- To discuss the role of parliamentarians in supporting and implementing the UN Agenda at the national level.
- To explore synergies between the UN and legislators worldwide.
II. Expected Outcomes
- Increased knowledge of the activities and goals of PGA in 2024and opportunities for cooperation with Member States and UN agencies.
- Improved understanding of the role parliamentarians can play when implementing the UN Agenda at the domestic level and how the UN can support theseendeavours.
- Increased engagement of the PGA UN Advisory Committee with the PGA Executive Committee of elected legislators from 15 UN Member States.
