“Having a Coalition for the Latin American and Caribbean Criminal Court Against Transnational Organized Crime (COPLA) will be an important step for our countries, to strengthen us in the fight against corruption, arms trafficking, drug trafficking and the problems that negatively affect our societies and therefore the quality of life of our fellow citizens."

In the framework of PGA's International Law and Human Rights program, legislators work to guarantee peace and support democracy, and without a doubt COPLA will be an instrument to strengthen our work.

This is a regional effort that will have a global impact and contribute to complying with SDG 16 on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, which states that "high levels of armed violence and insecurity have a destructive impact on a country’s development, affecting economic growth and often resulting in long standing grievances that can last for generations”.
