PGA was notified by Minister Lemalu Lemi Taefu, MP (Samoa, Member of PGA) that the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BWC) has been transmitted to the Office of the Attorney General of Samoa for clearance.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed the news which comes after the completion of a joint inter-agency review by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE). Once clearance from the Office of the Attorney General is advised, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade will prepare the Instrument of Accession.

In addition to his advocacy with MFAT over the past 8 months, Minister Lemalu Lemi Taefu has spoken directly to the Prime Minister of Samoa, H.E. Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi, on two separate occasions in this matter earlier this year.
