Parliamentarians play an important role in ensuring their countries are working to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and weapons trafficking. PGA's International Peace and Security Program lead joined legislators, government ministry officials, and other experts in Valparaíso, Chile on May 6 to explore how they could support efforts to advance greater peace and security to such ends under UN Resolution 1540, as well as the economic benefits of export controls.
