PGA operates under the political direction of the Executive Committee and the International Council.

About Us - Who’s Who

PGA operates under the political direction of the Executive Committee and the International Council. The Executive Committee meets twice a year to decide on PGA's future programme activities.

PGA operates under the political direction of the Executive Committee and the International Council. The Executive Committee meets twice a year to decide on PGA's future programme activities. The International Council meets once a year during the Annual Forum to review programme work and to elect members to the Committee and Council. Members of the Comittee are elected on a 40:60 gender ratio.

The Council represents all regions of the world and each country where PGA has members can be represented with no more than two members. All elected members of the Committee and the Council serve for two years with a maximum of two consecutive terms.

She has served as Deputy Foreign Minister and former President of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.

Ms. Cederfelt is a Swedish politician for the Moderate Party.  She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Masters degree in Social Science.  She is currently Deputy Chair of OSCE, Member of Committee on Foreign Affairs and Alternate Member of Committee on European Affairs.  She has been a member of the Swedish parliament since 1999.

Hon. Dr. Pindi Chana is a Tanzanian lawyer and politician for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).  She currently serves as Deputy Minister of Community Development, Gender and Children of the United Republic of Tanzania.  Dr. Chana has been a Member of Parliament since 2010.

Barbara Lochbihler is foreign affairs and human rights spokeswoman for Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance in the European Parliament. She served as Secretary General of the German section of Amnesty International from 1999-2009. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights.

Ms. Torshie Addo is a lawyer, diplomat and Ghanaian politician for the New Patriotic Party. She was first elected to parliament in 2008.

Jim Walsh is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician and member of Seanad Éireann since 1997.  He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Transport and is a former president of the Irish Road Hauliers'' Association. He is currently party spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Mr. Hugo Jabini is a Saramakan from the Laduani village by the Suriname River. He was awarded the Goldman Environmental Prize in 2009 for his efforts to protect their traditional land and tropical rainforests against industrial logging, supported by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and the Inter-American Court.

Dr. İrbeç is an economist, foreign policy expert, university professor and Turkish politician. He served as vice chairman and clerk member on the European Union Harmonisation Commission, as a member of the European Council and of the Joint Parliamentary Commission of the European Union. He has been a member of the Turkish Parliament since 2007.

Hon. Tashobya is a lawyer and politician for the Ugandan National Resistance Movement. He is the current Chairperson of the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.  Hon. Tashobya was recently elected as chairperson of the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) central governing board.
