Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA), with its Members of Parliaments (MPs) in 142 countries in all regions of the world, firmly condemns the shocking attack carried out by terrorists at the office of the Charlie Hebdo publication in Paris yesterday.

PGA associates itself in this regard with the many statements of support for, and solidarity with, the victims of these barbaric acts and with the People and Government of the Republic of France, including those issued by the Secretary General of the United Nations, the President of the European Union, the President of France and the Representatives of States and other entities engaged in the global fight against terrorism.

PGA is particularly outraged by the fact that certain groups and entities, including the purported 'islamic state' appear to have praised the criminal acts perpetrated in Paris, hence demonstrating once again the inhumanity and brutal convictions that are inspiring their genocidal policies and plans to commit other mass-atrocities in Syria, Iraq and northern Lebanon.

The global network of PGA stands in full solidarity with the victims of all inhumane acts, regardless of where such acts are committed, the nationality of the alleged perpetrators and their motive, including their terrorist and/or fundamentalist nature.

All perpetrators must be brought to justice and all States must fully cooperate to eliminate the sources of funding, cutting off the supply of arms and other weapons as well as any other support and recruitment practices for entities or groups promoting, involved in or supporting these inhumane and criminal acts.

Dip. Minou Tavarez Mirabal (Dominican Republic), President of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA).
