The Insights by Lawmakers on Climate Action & Oceans series (#InsightsByLawmakers) highlight ongoing efforts, national experiences, lessons learned and good practices implemented by parliamentarians to advance the goals of these Campaigns.

Mobilization must be stronger. A huge international movement is taking shape, led by the States already calling for a moratorium.

This meeting brought parliamentarians from the National Assembly of Mozambique together with the Ministry of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, experts, and civil society representatives to reflect on opportunities to support the sustainable development of small-scale fisheries in Mozambique.

PGA congratulates Panama on the historic conservation of 54 percent of its national waters, significantly surpassing the international target to protect at least 30 percent of the Ocean through Marine Protected Areas by 2030.

PGA Board Member Hon. Dr. Angela Brown Burke, MP (Jamaica) convened the Breakfast Discussion on the Protection of the Oceans during the 43rd Annual Forum of PGA hosted by the National Congress of Argentina in Buenos Aires.

The Breakfast Discussion provided parliamentarians the opportunity to discuss recent actions, share experiences, and explore next steps for the three Oceans Campaign projects

The discussion served to bring focus to these often marginalized - yet extremely vital - communities, exploring concrete solutions for increased sustainability of small-scale fisheries.
