Quarterly Update of the Campaign for the Abolition of the Death Penalty – April-June 2023

In the past three months, positive strides have been made in Malaysia towards limiting the scope of capital punishment, as its Parliament removed the mandatory death penalty for 12 offenses.

Mobilization must be stronger. A huge international movement is taking shape, led by the States already calling for a moratorium.

Without oceans, no life on earth. The statement is clear.

 Approximately 22 Members of the National Assembly participated in the Workshop, including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Leader of Government Business in the National Assembly.

A central focus of the Workshop was to raise awareness surrounding the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT)
