The Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians (CAP) brings together legislators from around the world for PGA's flagship gathering of parliamentary action and peer-to-peer dialogue. These assemblies serve as the thematic foundation for PGA's Annual Forum, providing dedicated forums where parliamentarians engage in strategic discussions, share lessons learned, and develop concrete action plans to advance global priorities.
PGA organizes the Annual Forum around thematic issues relevant to the interests of our members and campaign priorities. Most often, CAP events tend to focus on bringing members of parliament together around one of two PGA campaigns:
- CAP-Oceans – The premier global gathering of legislators focused on the protection of the oceans and our fishers, advancing PGA's Campaign on the Protection of the Oceans.
- CAP-ICC – The only global gathering of legislators focused solely on the Rome Statute system of the International Criminal Court and the Rule of Law.
Each CAP engages attendees in inter-parliamentary dialogue using non-partisan approaches and equitable representation to ensure legislators from all regions can identify strategies and build momentum for change in their home countries.
