In commemoration of International Day of Parliamentarism, Parliamentarians for Global Action is hosting a peer-to-peer dialogue between current and former Members of Parliament across regions to mark this occasion.
The conversation will explore how parliamentarians can respond to shrinking civic space, disinformation, and rising political polarization that continue to challenge democratic institutions.
Participants will share lived experiences and identify practical approaches to these challenges.
We invite parliamentarians to learn more about our toolkits and resources on democracy, the environment, gender equality, international justice, peace and security and the inclusion of marginalized populations.
The International Day of Parliamentarism is celebrated every year on 30 June, the date in 1889 on which the IPU was founded. The Day was established in 2018 through a United Nations General Assembly Resolution.
