I was very pleased to be informed by PGA earlier today that the Government of Togo deposited its Instrument of Ratification of the Arms Trade Treaty yesterday, 8th October, 2015, with the United Nations in New York, becoming the 77th State Party to this vital international treaty. My colleagues in PGA in the Togolese Parliament and I worked tirelessly over the past eighteen months to achieve unanimous parliamentary ratification of the Arms Trade Treaty on 9th July, 2015, paving the way for the Government's deposit of the Instrument of Ratification.
