Annual UN Committee Meeting 2016

PGA works closely with the UN system through its advisory body, the United Nations Committee for PGA, which comprises senior UN ambassadors, high-level UN officials, and some leading NGO representatives. The Committee meets twice a year in order to advise PGA on its work around the United Nations, as well as to offer advice and share best practices on how Parliamentarians can strengthen the working methods of the UN, its General Assembly, and Security Council. It also offers the opportunity for ambassadors and high-level officials to learn about the strategic goals and activities of PGA for the current year.

The Committee is currently chaired by H.E. Ambassador Christian Wenaweser, Permanent Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the UN. Amb. Wenaweser served as President of the Assembly of States Parties of the International Criminal Court from 2008-2011, in which he successfully lead negotiations on the Kampala Amendments to the Rome Statute in 2010.
