Port of Spain - Trinidad and Tobago - 26-27 September, 2019

PGA organized a successful Regional Caribbean Parliamentary Workshop to Promote the Role of Women Legislators in Addressing the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from 26-27 September, 2019, in cooperation with the PGA National Group of Trinidad and Tobago and kindly funded by UNSCAR.

Prominent Members of Parliament from Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago participated in the event together with the EU Head of Delegation and UN Resident Coordinator in Trinidad and Tobago.

A presentation was also delivered by the Executive Director of the Women's Institute for Alternative Development (WINAD) and Coordinator for the Caribbean Coalition for Development and the Reduction of Armed Violence (CDRAV), followed by an extensive question and answer session.

A Plan of Action was adopted at the conclusion of the Workshop to facilitate follow-up steps in the coming months.
