Secretariat was invited to participate in Global Partnership (GP) Meetings on Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Ottawa, Canada on 5 – 7 February 2025.

The Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction (the Global Partnership) is a G7-led, 31-member international initiative aimed at preventing the proliferation of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) weapons and related materials.

  2. prohibit the development, acquisition, manufacture, possession, transportation, transfer and use of biological, chemical and nuclear weapons, in particular promoting accession to, and implementation of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) and implementation of UN Security Council Resolution (UNSC) 1540 (2004);
  3. promote nuclear and radiological security, in particular promoting ratification of/accession to the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, the Convention for the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and its Amendment;
