PGA Member Dip. Lia Quartapelle (Italy) calls on government to suspend arms exports to all countries directly involved in the conflict in Yemen

Since March 2015, a civil war has been taking place in Yemen, including military forces from a coalition led by Saudi Arabia, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt against the Houthi rebel forces.

Update: June 27th 2019: The Italian Chamber of Deputies has approved the suspension of sales of bombs and missiles to Yemen. PGA Member Dip. Lia Quartapelle: "a great success, but all weapons must be blocked" (in italiano)

The decision by Italy's Parliament, to halt arms sales to Saudi Arabia and UAE while there is clear risk of use in violations in Yemen, follows recent similar legislation in US Senate & decisions in the UK and Belgium.

Republic of Italy - PGA Member and Chair of Italian National Group, Dip. Lia Quartapelle has submitted a Parliamentary Question pointing out the current devastating humanitarian situation in Yemen and calling on the new Government of Italy to suspend approval for arms exports to the region.
