Brazilian Senate approves the Ratification of the ATT

PGA was pleased to have received confirmation on February 8, 2018, from the office of PGA Member Sen. Ana Amélia, as well as the Office of the  Order of the Day in the Brazilian Senate that, the Bill of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) has just been approved in the past few hours in the Plenary of the Senate. PGA Members in Brazil, in both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Parliament of Brazil, have made a number of decisive contributions to the ATT Parliamentary Ratification Process over the past 4 years.

The ATT Bill now has concluded its process in the Brazilian Parliament and will be promulgated into a Legislative Decree to be signed by H.E. President Michel Temer in the near future. This will allow for the deposit of Brazil’s Instrument of Ratification of the ATT at the United Nations in New York during the course of the next few months.
