PGA National Group in Dominican Republic sends letter to Foreign Minister of Dominican Republic urging support for Arms Trade Treaty

Group of Parliamentarians for Global Action of Dominican Republic, coordinated by Deputy Cristian Paredes and Minou Tavarez Mirabal, president of the International PGA Council, makes an urgent appeal to the Dominican government through the Foreign Ministry, for our country to support the enactment and implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty which is at a turning point for negotiation by the International Community.

A treaty to ensure that no weapons can serve to exacerbate the conflict and armed violence, including domestic violence, foster corruption or undermine the provisions of the development and ensure a rapid entry into force.

In these times when the Dominican government has expressed its commitment to enforce a public safety plan understand that support for the arms trade treaty is more important than ever and is of interest of the whole society.
